March 2005
Sorry this is a late update. Not a good start to doing my monthly updates, eh?! My laptop is currently in Sony's repair centre, and joint with being woken up several times during the night by babies I just haven't got round to it!
Since my last update we have had a few events - the first being Jenna's 2nd Birthday. She had a wonderful time. She was visited by Grandad Chris and Linda on the Saturday and then we visited Nanny and Grandad Jim on the Sunday and then on her actual birthday We took her to Mcdonalds as this is what she wanted to do. She also wanted to go to toddler group in the morning, which we did and they all sang happy birthday to her! We also took her to JJ's - the local soft play place. My dad and one of my brothers were up here for the day to make that possible! (Ian was at work and there is noway I am taking all four of them there on my own at this age!) Then the following week we had a bit of a gathering at our house for her and her friend Emma who turned 2 years old 2 weeks after Jenna. Phew!
Second event was Valentines, which we were lucky enough to get out and have lunch alone together - made possible by grandad Chris and Linda babysitting! It was celebrated a week early, but heck - it was just great to get out for the first time in... however long it has been!!!
Third event was Ian's birthday. He turned 29 on the 15th February. We also were lucky enough to wangle most of the day out on the weekend before this too! My dad had Bryony and Jenna and my aunt Yvonne, who has 13 year old twins herself, babysat our twins! They all seemed to have a fab time and we got a day out with our good friends Kerry and Russell!
Fourth and final big event was.... Ian has a new job! He starts it on Monday 14th March. I won't pretend I know the ins and outs of it so you will have to email him if you're looking for lots of details. He will be working for Siemens Business Services. You can read more about them here. We're really proud of him and we all knew he was able to do far better than he was in his previous job.
The kids have all been up and down with illnesses varying from colds and bugs to
infections. I think it's due to 1) the constantly changing weather and 2) Bryony
going to pre-school and bringing all sorts home with her! Hopefully the spring air
and the sunshine will sort that out soon! I'm not used to dealing with this much
illness - prior to this the girls had only had a virus or two each in their life.
Milestones are starting to be reached by the twins. Rhianna is now able to sit up
from laying down; pulling herself up to standing from sitting; crawling (backwards
so far so no doubt she'll be going forwards very soon!) and is starting to find
enough control in her hands to feed herself with a spoon. Both Euan and Rhianna are
clapping (on demand as well!), saying Da-da and occasionally da-dee! I have also
heard the odd mum-mum! They seem to enjoy dancing - whenever music comes on the
start giggling and bouncing around!
The girls are progressing fast - as usual. Bryony is keen to learn to write her
name and seems to nearly have the B's, R's, Y's and O's sussed - she just needs to learn
N's and the put them in the right order and all the right way around! Jenna's pen
control is getting better too and her speech is getting on well - she still
mis-pronounces a lot, which for a 2 year old is perfectly normal and also very
cute!
Not much going on for me! Am starting my diet in earnest this month seeing as I can exercise more with the weather changing. I'm going to get out and get me and Bryony our cycle helmets! Still doing candle parties - I was very popular in February, but have reduced them for March as I have another busy month with them in April!
Well - that's my update for this month! Hopefully next months will be on time!!!
